It is the 8th largest Ferris wheel in the United States, a tie it holds with the Capital Wheel in National Harbor, Maryland. It opened on April 18, 1986, replacing the Purina Pet-A-Pet petting zoo. But, 20 years later it remains the longest drop on a closed circuit coaster in California, and speeds faster than any other closed circuit coaster in the state.
